Vintage Pellon wool saddle covering. This pellon is authentic and made the old traditional way through the pain staking process of twisting the strands one by one and then secure them into the core of the pellon. This process goes back 200 years in peru and takes an artisan 3 months to complete. It has enormous pockets on the underside which were used for carrying bags of gold and silver. It has some superficial crack on the edging and a little thinning when the knees rest when mounted. For it's age I think it looks very presentable. This process is a lost art and done by only a few now.
